Baculoviruses are arthropod specific viruses that have long been used as biological agents to control the insects attacking crop plants, They are also the key components of insect-baculovirus expression system （BEVS）, which has been one of the four main expression systems in gene engineering. Additionally, baculovirus has been a new gene transfer vector used in gene therapy due to its ridvantages of the extremely high expression of foreign genes and being non-reproduce vector. The advances in application of Baculoviruses are reviewed in this paper.
