In city-countryside integration and space utilization is the inevitable choice for sustainable development in China, intensive small towns in Chaoshan area, Guangdong Province, due to its limit from environment resources. The small towns in Chaoshan area are, however, in the trouble of intensive space because of utilization hysteresis of planning methods. To solve the problem, the problem of intensive space utilization of small towns from the aspect of urban and rural planning is re-considered. Further solutions for improvement are proposed with the expectation that more thinking and reforms are brought out.
