针对我国钛资源特色,采用NaOH熔盐对钛渣进行分解制备二氧化钛是一种生产钛白的新工艺。以酸溶性钛渣(70%
According to titanium resources in China,a new process for production of titanium dioxide by decoposing titanium slag with NaOH molten salt was proposed. The thermodynamics of decomposition of titanium slag(70%TiO2 content80%)was studied. The chemical components and phase analysis of the slag were characterized by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry(ICP-OES)and X-ray diffraction(XRD),respectively. The results show that in the new reaction system, the main minerals in the slag such as MgTi2O5,TiO2 and FeTiO3 have great tendency to react with NaOH molten salt in a temperature range of 400—1000 K,in which the pressure of H2O may be very high.Thermodynamic analysis indicates that elements Ti,Al,Si and Cr in the slag react easily and generate corresponding sodium salt in the temperature range. The analysis results also show that the decomposition of slag is not a thermal decomposition but a reaction decomposition with NaOH.FeO and MnO are oxided to high valence state compounds, while Ca and Mg do not react. The sodium silicate generated by Si and NaOH can enter the final product to affect the TiO2 performance.Based on the thermodynamic analysis,it may be considered to remove Si in the titanium slag by NaOH at low temperatures. The results provide a theoretical basis for impurity removal in the production.
