This article analyzes the characteristic and design method of the huizhou residence by measuring the length and width of Yang Gao Tang in Xidi. In order to keeping up with The times and inherittig the huizhou traditional architectural culture in the modern architecture, we should do following things. First, exploring the history and culture, economic factors, residential concept and aesthetic characteristics of huizou residence and concluding the design method; Then,putting forward the possibility of using the design method or characteristics of huizhou ancient architecture in modern architecture.
