英文摘要：

Compatibility of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） as the primary form of Chinese medicine plays an important characteris- tic which is different from the chemical medicine. Aromatic refreshing TCM has been usually used as ＂adjuvant drug＂ in the compound with its effects of inducing resuscitation and promoting other drugs entering into the brain, such as borneol, Acorns tatarinowii Schott and musk. Aromatic refreshing TCM not only can promote the gastrointestinal absorption of some difficult absorption component, also can make it into the central nervous system （CNS） by opening the blood -brain barrier （BBB）. Further exploration of action mecha- nism of aromatic refreshing TCM, can provide reference for clinical rational administration. The aim of this review is to summarise？ the knowledge of Aromatic refreshing TCM acting as ＂adjuvant drug＂ promoting the gastrointestinal absorption, the brain uptakes and its mechanism of action.
