[ Purpose/significance ] We studied on the methods of construction and analysis of directed author cooperative network, and explored its application in the scientific research relationship analysis. [ Method/process ] Follow the domestic practice, we distinguished the first and the other authors＇ signature orders, built the directed author cooperative network, and compared with undirected network from the whole structure, types of topology and characteristics of nodes. [ Result/conclusion] We found that directed network can reflect the author＇s leading or assistant role, convenient to understand the role of scholars in the scientific research cooperation, and provide a possible way to scholars and institutions of a more comprehensive evaluation of scientific research.
