A method for constructing quantum codes from cyclic codes over the ring Fq＋uFqwas given,where qis a prime power and u2=0.First,symplectic self-orthogonal codes over Fqwere obtained as images of cyclic codes over Fq ＋uFq.Then,these codes were used to construct quantum codes.Examples including quantum MDS codes were given.
