Poverty is a social phenomenon accompanied by the process of human development,and cooperative has been seen as an ideal platform to achieve pro-poor and poverty alleviation of poor groups through self-help and mutual help.We can assume that rural cooperative organizations（with farmer specialized cooperatives as the mainstream） provide a highly desirable development path for China＇s poverty reduction.This paper elaborated the rural cooperative organizations＇ pro-poor functions in the field of agriculture and rural areas,meanwhile,it explicitly pointed out several misunderstandings of rural cooperative organizations＇ pro-poor value.
