This paper advocates the use of OMNeT++ network simulator as a practice means to deal with the existing problems in wireless network teaching. A case study of the commonly seen hidden terminal problem in WLAN is conducted to showcase that OMNeT++'s application in the WLANteaching. The case study shows that OMNeT++ is capable of revealing the general procedure and principles of wireless protocols in an intuitive and detailed manner.
