Abstract The novel organooxotin compound{[(4-ClB2)2Sn(O)-]5(O2N)}2 was synthesized by the hydrolytic reaction of (4-ClB2)2SnCl2 with silver nitrate. The crystal structure was determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction. In the crystals of compound, all tin atoms rendered five-coordinate in a distorted trigonal bipyramidal configurations.
