Based on the pattern of human living around springs, Spring Settlement is formed as a special type of dwelling model in traditional residential communities. The methodology for this research involves studies of historical documentation, collection and reviews of relevant literature, as well as site visiting. This article, from compare and contrast analysis of different spring communities＇ features in Shandong, Shanxi, Henan, Hebei, has made a typological summery for the spatial arrangement and typical features of the Spring Settlement.
