P300, as an index of the human higher--order cognition, were widely used in the researches of self--conscious- ness. This article reviewed P300 induced by self--related information and attention, and analyzed the limitations of current self--related studies at the same time. Then the paper discussed the possible research areas in the future from the perspec- tives of internal structure of self and culture neuroscience on the self.
