In this paper, we consider a Lotka - volterra model with impulsive effects on the prey and stage structure on the predator. We prove that all solutions of the system are uniformly ultimately bounded and sufficient conditions of the permanence of the system are obtained. These results show that the behavior of impulsive effects on the prey plays an important role for the permanence of the system. These results provide a reliable tactical basis for the management of biological resources.
