Innovative thought awareness and innovative practice ability are the important characteristics of elite and the talent training target of research-oriented university. The experience about project selection, instruction, implementation, check and acceptance is presented according to the supervision of projects of university student innovation program in recent years. Some suggestion of main body status of students, leading role of teachers, examination and evaluation of university is proposed, which is expected to be promotive for the implementation quality of university student innovation program, be useful and stimulative for realizing educational philosophy of elite cultivation.
