Effect of WMV infection on leaf cell ultrastructure of tetraploid watermelon was examined by transmission election microscopy.When plant of watermelon were infected by WMV,the altrastructure alteration of leaf cell was obvious,chloroplast showed severe swellness,looseness of grana,heterogeneous puffiness on the chloroplast membrane,more osmiophilic globules,more pinwheel inclusion,more cytoplasmic strand,Golgi apparatus appeared,more mitochondria,disintegration of nucleous membrane and disintegration of nucleus.The growth of tetraploid watermelon was also affected by WMV compared with control.
