An opto-electronic hybrid fiber optical rotary joint (FORJ) is designed, which can keep connecting between two relatively rotary optical signal in a larger misalignment range with low interconnection loss. The rotary graded index (GRIN) lens collimates the light from the SM fiber,PIN photo detector transfers the optical signal to electric signal,and the semicon ductor laser gives out the regenerate optical signal and lets the ray keep up transmitting in fiber communications system. The coupling loss is just 0.3 dB when the lateral misalignment is 520μm and the angle titling is 0.5°. Compared with the fiber optical rotary joint with two GRIN lens, the FORJ can dramatically reduce the requirement of the mechanism precision and is of great value.
