Bai-Ou Guan was born in Liaoning Province, China, in 1972 He received B.S. degree in applied physics from Sichuan University, Chengdu, China, in 1994 and Ph.D. degree in optics from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 2000. He is currently a professor with School of Physics & Optoelectronic Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, China. His research interests include photonic crystal fibers, fiber laser sensors and fiber Bragg grating. Zhi Wang received dual B.S. degree in engineering mechanics and electronic engineering from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 1998, M.S. degree in solid mechanics from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 2001, and Ph.D. degree in optics from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 2005, respectively. Since 2005, he has been at the Institue of Modem Optics of Nankai University, Tianjin, China. His current research interests include photonic crystal fibers, fiber amplifier and fiber laser. Yang Zhang was born in Liaoning Province, China, in 1983. He received the B.S. degree from the Dalian University of Technology (DLUT), Dalian, in 2005. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Technology of Dalian University of Technology. His research interests include fiber lasers sensors. Da Chen was born in Liaoning Province, China, in 1983. She received the B.S. degree in electronic science and technology from Liaoning Normal University, Dalian, in 2006. She is currently pursuing the M.S. degree with the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Technology of Dalian University of Technology. Her research interests include photonic crystal fibers and polarization maintaining fibers.
