Bo Liu was born in Shandong Province, China, in 1975. He received the Ph.D. degree in optics from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 2004. Now he is the associate professor with the Institute of Modern Optics, Nankai University. His research interests are fiber sensors, fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors, and interrogation systems. Yin-Ping Miao was born in Shanxi Province, China, in 1980. She received the M.S. degree from Jinan University, Guangzhou, China, in 2006. She is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree at the Institute of Modem Optics, Nankai University, Tianjin, China. Her research interests are mainly focused on optical fiber communication and sensing technology and their real applications. Hai-Bin Zhou's biography is not available at the time of publication. Qi-Da Zhao was bom in Beijing, China, in 1942. He received the B.S. degree from the Physics Department, Nankai University,Tianjin, China, in 1967 and the M.S. degree in optics fxom the Applied Physics Department, Beijing University of Technology, in 1981. During 1994 to 1995, he acted as an advanced visiting scholoar with the School of Electronics and Computer Engineering, State University of New York at Buffalo, for optoelectronics and optical-fiber communication research and cooperation. He was the Director of the Applied Physics Department, Beijing University of Technology. He is currently a professor with the Institute of Modern Optics, Nankai University. He presided at more than ten scientific research projects that are supported by the National 863 Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, the Doctoral Program, Foundation of the Ministry of Education, the Keystone Natural Science Foundation of Beijing and Tianjin, and so forth. He has published more than 100 papers in academic journals, and many of the papers are indexed by SCI and El. His research interests concentrate on acousto-optic information processing and acoustooptie devices, optical-fiber communication and sensing.
