FDI in east, middle and west areas of China are strongly unbalanced. Geographical endow-ments and culture difference are important factors. Panel data of east, middle and west areas of China from 1998 to 2010 indicate cultural, geographical factors as well as the agglomeration effect playing a prominent role in the FDI location choice. The agglomeration effects among those factors has the strongest effect on the FDI location choice, transportation factor has little direct effect on the FDI location choice, and the ag-glomeration effects that effect FDI location choice via culture factors is negative.
