青铜鹰首提梁壶出现于战国早期,但传世的一件铜壶(何壶)却铸有西周早期铭文。本文通过与该壶形制相类的铜壶以及铸有相同铭文的尊、卣相关特征的综合考察,推测这件被诸多著录书辑录的鹰首提梁壶很可能是一件作伪之器。
The type of bronze hu vessel with an eagle-head spout and handle firstly appeared in the Early Warring States period. Intriguingly, one vessel of this type, or known as he hu --which is supposed to be a received bronze-was cast with a piece of inscription showing the Early Western Zhou style. ]he author critically analyzes the typology of this type of vessels and compares this piece with otherzun andyou bronzes with the same inscriptions. Through synthesizing various lines of evidence together, the author argues that this piece of bronze might have been a forgery, even though it has been included in many catalogs.
