In order to explore effects of task characteristics on QITBB （includes relating activity,monitoring activity,and scouting activity）,161 valid group questionnaires were used to testify hypotheses based on measurements of task characteristics and team boundary-spanning behavior.The results indicated that task interdependence was positively associated with relating activity and monitoring activity; task complexity was positively associated with all dimensions of QITBB,and task time pressure was only associated with scouting activity.In summary,task characteristics to some extent triggered teams to manage team boundary-spanning activities.
