Schizochytrium sp.FJU-512 was a marine fungus producing a large amount of docosahexaenoic acid(DHA).The content of the total lipid in its dry cell was up to 18.3%.The profile of fatty acids in the total lipid consisted of 45.7% DHA,12.5% docosapentaenoic acid(DPA) and 41.8% palmitic acid.The total lipid contained 26.4% polar lipid and 73.6% neutral lipid.HPLC and MS analysis showed the strain could also produce astaxanthin,which could protect the cell oil against oxidization.The optimum medium for DHA produ...
