On the foundation of states about research of cultural heritage value assessment in western academia, this paper puts forward that economic value needs to be assessed correctly and professionally in domestic cultural heritage protection, planning and management.The economic value of cultural heritage is one kind of potential, sustainable and developing resource.which should be assessed quantitatively and in various interdisciplinary methodologies to help measure other heritage values.
