The near-infrared fluorescent probe and its application in biological analysis are reviewed. The indodicarbocyanines, tetrapyrrrole dyes （phthalocyanine and porphyrine）, oxazine and thiazine dyes, rhodamine dyes（rhodamine 800,Alexa dyes etc）, BODIPY, lanthanide probes, quantum dots, etc. are introduced, and their biological and analytical applications are described.
