为了保证高误码信道环境下图像通信的传输质量,提出了一种新的基于感兴趣区的多描述编码方法.首先利用冗余变换和JPEG编码相结合的方法,构造多描述码流,克服了以往多描述编码方法构造复杂、不易扩展到多信道系统的缺点.同时采用感兴趣区编码方法,对人眼感兴趣区域优先进行保护.实验表明,该方法在网络状态较差的情况下,首先能保证感兴趣区图像的重建质量,进而提高图像的整体视觉效果.
To improve the quality of images in image communication system over error prone channels, a multiple description coding (MDC)algorithm based on region of interest (ROI) by using redundant transform is proposed. Due to the independence of the transformed coefficients, redundant transform is combined with JPEG coding system o generate multiple descriptions. The number and choice of projections can be changed freely for the demand of encoding redundancy. To achieve better reconstructed image quality, the region of interest is taken into account. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is simply implemented and easier to extend than other MDC methods. It can improve the visual quality of the ROI.
