Objective To study the expression of cyclooxygenase-2（COX-2）and proliferating cell nuclear antigen（PCNA）in hepatocellular carcinoma（HCC）and their relationship.MethodsExpressions of COX-2 and PCNA were detected with immunohistochemistry assay and the results were analyzed by computer-aided image analysis system.Results The positive expression rate and percentage of area of COX-2 and PCNA were significantly different between HCC and tumor-adjacent tissures（P〈0.05）.The positive expression rate was significantly different between COX-2-positive and COX-2-negative tissures（P〈0.05）.The percentage of positive expression area was significantly different between HCC and tumor-adjacent tissures（P〈0.05）.Conclusion COX-2 is overexpressed in HCC,which is correlated with the expression level of PCNA.
