Objective In order to solve the discomfort problem in human body evoked by 3D-TV, we explore the effect of different parameters of pictures on human body by using pictures with different parameters to stimulate volunteers to produce visual evoked potential (VEP) and through the analysis of characteristic parameters of VEP. Methods A VEP test system was set up centered on Neuroscan electroencephalograph. Ten healthy male students were requested to accept picture-stimulation of different parameters. When the volunteers felt discomfort,a feedback button would be pressed. VEP was extracted through averaging EEG signals and a statistic analysis was made to find the relevance of the pictures with different parameters and VEP. Results All images could induce similar experimental waveforms and typical ingredients, yet images generated by different parameters induced latencies and amplitudes different. Conclusions P2 can be used as a characteristic parameter to detect different components of a 3D image.
