In this paper, we estimated the total factor productivity （TFP） of industrial enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta from 1999 to 2007 by using OLS method, fixed effects method, OP method and LP method. The results show that the overall TFP of the Pearl River Delta is higher than that of the Yangtze River Deltahe The TFP of collective holding, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan holding and foreign controlled enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta is higher, while the TFP of state controlled, privately held and other enterprises in the Pearl River Delta is higher. The TFP of large enterprises in both regions are quite the same.
