Dendritic carboxylic acid was synthesized via convergent approach. The dendritic carboxylic acid was attached to modified DPEN, and dendritic ligands(4 and 9) were synthesised after cleavage of protective group. With Rh complex( Rh-4 or Rh-9) as catalyst and HCO2Na · 2H2Oas hydrogen source, highly efficient asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of aromatic ketone in water was achieved.
