A series of his (indolyl) alkanes were obtained through a sodium fluoroborate catalyzed cascade reaction of indole and aromatic aldehydes in ethanol aqueous solution. The reation conditions such as catalyst, solvent, temperature and reaction time were optimized, and under the optimal reation conditions, the desired products were obtained in moderate to good yields.
