By applying the VAR model,the authors carry out an empirical study on the relationship between independent innovation capacity,absorptive capacity and upgrade of industrial structure based on the time series data from 1987 to 2010.The result shows that a long-term and stable equilibrium relation among them.Independent innovation capacity and absorptive capacity is the Granger reason for Guangxi＇s upgrade of industrial structure.In the long term,both of them can prompt Guangxi＇s upgrade of industrial structure,especially independent innovation capacity.Therefore,the governments at all levels in Guangxi should take relevant measures to promote the capacity of independent innovation and absorption in industry.
