The paper measures the industrial structure of Jiangsu manufacturing industry from the perspective of industrial linkage and demand based on 1997 and 2005 input-output tables of the province. The research finds the following results ： during the period of 1997--2005 China＇s access into the WTO leads to less inter-provincial trade and more international trade; major intermediate-input sectors had less pull and restriction functions on Jiangsu economy ; the competence of Jiangsu manufacturing has shifted from consumption good sectors to intermediate-input and capital good sectors.
