采用铂微电极观察到了室温下(25±1)℃甲苯单一溶剂中C60和C70的六步单电子电化学还原过程.在甲苯中采用一般的有机相支持电解质溶饵度差,电势窗口也不宽.实验结果表明,离子液体[Tetrahexylammonium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide,THA—Tf2N]在甲苯中具有良好的溶解度,因而可以作为这种非极性溶剂的理想支持电解质,并且该体系可以提供宽达-3.7V(相对于二茂铁电对,Fe^+/Fe)的电化学还原窗口,这是在室温下实现C60^6-和C70^6-的电化学检测的主要原因.
The complete set of six one-electron reductions of C60 and C70 was observed for the first time in a single organic solvent, toluene, at room temperatures (25 ± 1 ) ℃ by cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry on a Pt disk uhramicroelectrode (UME). A type of room-temperature ionic liquid ( RTIL), tetrahexylammonium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide( THA-Tf2N), was found to have an excellent solubility in toluene, and was employed as the supporting electrolyte to increase the conductivity of toluene. This electrochemical system presents a wide potential window down to - 3.7 V vs. ferrocenium/ferrocene ( Fe^ +/Fe), which essentially allows electrochemical detection of C60^6- and C70^6- at room temperature. We also discussed the reasons why does this RTIL dissolve well in toluene, and the future applications of such system.
