The progress on the chemical constituents and pharmacology were reviewed.Saponin compounds,organic acids,terpenoids,polyphenols,flavonoids,sterols,coumarins,polysaccharides and other types of compounds were isolated from the plant of Solanum lyratum Thunb.,which had good anti-cancer,anti-bacterial and anti-allergy effect and had extensive clinical application.
