As a new development of the collective behavior theories,the elaborated social identity model inherits the integration ideas and important concepts of social identity theory and self- categorization theory,and investigates the relationships among collective behavior,context and social identity from the dynamic and interactive perspectives.Through empirical research for many years,it has focused on the affection of the inter - group interaction on the individual＇s social identity and the development trends of the collective behavior.The theory not only reveals the mechanism of the occurrence and development of collective behavior （especially collective conflicts）,but also has some enlightenment on the public order policing and the understanding of the internal mechanism of social conflict and social change.
