According to the Guan Ritual, the handle-shaped jade implement of Little Servant （） named itselfZan瓒 was originally placed in a sacrificial vessel with tulip wine poured over it as an of- fering to the gods （or people）. Zan was a general name used for other similar jade implements, such as Gui圭, Zhang璋, Huang 璜, Bi 璧, Lang 琅 and Er 珥. The major variation between the Ladle- shaped vessels such as Bogongfu＇s ladle from the Zan was its use in sacrificial ceremony. Therefore, even if the Bogongfu＇s ladle named itself as aJue, it is not suitable to assume its indication was the same as a Jue.
