A jade Ge with inscriptions was excavated from tomb CIM5560 of the Warring Statesperiod at Luoyang Tanggong road. There were two remarks on the inscription:"Bi Gong Zuo Tu" and "BiGong Zuo Yu", therefore two different opinions about the tomb owner was caused. This article bycomparing the ancient characters of "Tu" and " Yu", drew the conclusion that the remarks on theinscription should be "Bi Gong Zuo Yu".According to the tomb scale and the funerary objects, this graveis a tomb for scholar and the owner of the grave should be the royal lineage members, his official position is"Bi Gong"'s chariot driver.According to ancient document and excavated data we can know Bi family atleast continuous existed in the the Spring and Autumn Period.there was no region named "Bi"in the EastZhou royal family's control area,so "Bi Gong"should be the progeny of "Bigong Gao",the importantnoble of the early Western Zhou Dynasty.Based on the fact that the "Bi Gong"'s chariot driver owns atomb for scholar, and Bi-family did not fade away during the early Warring States period, on the contrary, which played an important role in that period.
