以东北东部地区交通建设作为研究切入点,系统分析了东北东部地区经济发展现状及交通建设中存在的问题.通过交通、经济相关因素指标研究表明:一是交通建设的确使边境效应发生改变,由"屏蔽"转为"中介"再到区位优势的发挥;二是构建城市组群将交通建设与区域发展有机结合起来,使这一区域空间结构逐步合理化;三是东北东部沿边经济带的形成应为长期发展任务,先期应重点培育区域经济增长极,中、后期将发挥地区"核心口岸城市"作用,提升口岸功能,扩大腹地经济规模,构建东北东部沿边经济带.
