Value-Focused Thinking （VFT） is a decision-making analysis method for solving multiple objective problems. VFT emphasizes the guidance role of value in the decision-making process, and is of inspiring significance in the collection and analysis of decision-making intelligence. It is widely used in the military, management, marketing and information system fields. The paper makes a comprehensive summary of the related researches on VFT at home and abroad, and gives a systematical description of the meanings, advantages, construction of the model, application process, weight computing, application field and development di- rection in an attempt to provide support and references for decision-making research and its information service in various fields.
