First we introduce the opportunistic network and the corresponding theoretical basis, including the basic con- cepts, architecture and the research directions of the opportunistic network. Then we focus on the typical buffer manage- ment mechanism, and further analyze the advantages and disadvantages. Finally, we conclude the buffer management mechanism of opportunistic network and show our future design directions.
