This paper firstly expatiates on the content and characteristics of the Creative Commons licences （ CC）, then gives a detailed description of the practice of Australia in using CC as the copyright protection mechanism to promote the public sectors to reuse information. Finally, the paper summarizes the inspirations from the Australian practice to China in promoting the Chinese public sectors to reuse information.
