The compbsition, classification and properties of hot melt adhesive （HMA） were introduced, the research and application of EVA （ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer）-HMA （such as grafting modification, reactive group modification, inorganic particles modification, aromatic hydrocarbon resin modification and multi-polyblend modification）, polyurethane hot melt adhesive （PUR） and polyester-HMA were especially summarized. Finally, the development direction of new HMA was expected.
