Face to the inverter-based interfaces of renewable energy resources (RERs),the advanced control scheme of a grid-connected inverter to emulate the features of traditional synchronous generator,named as synchronverter,is explained and validated in detail.On the basis of mathematical model of traditional synchronous generator,the control strategy of synchronverter is achieved.Furthermore,the settings of the key parameters which influence the performances of synchronverter on voltage and frequency regulation of utility are carefully addressed.With the aid of synchronverter,the grid-connected inverter can be equivalently viewed as a synchronous generator.As a result,the RERs can be connected to utility in a utility-friendly way,which may enhance the penetration of RERs in future RER-oriented utility.Finally,a 10 kW prototype is built to verify the validation and effectiveness of the synchronverter on reactive generation,voltage supporting and frequency regulation.
