Based on the national survey data of college graduates' employment in 2013, this paper discusses the influence of job match on starting salary and draws the following conclusions: both over-education and job'match has a significantly negative impact on graduates' starting salaries by controlling human capital variables;the negative effects decreased by 2% after further controlling social capital variables. In specific, over- education's negative effect on salaries of graduates from key universities is much bigger than non-key universities, while the negative effect of job match on salaries of graduates from higher vocational colleges is much bigger than undergraduate universities. Under-education has a significantly positive effect on salaries of both male graduates and "211"college graduates. According to the results, the paper comesb up with some policy implications.
