Under the framework of energy consumption and carbon emissions, by estimating provincial green TFP growth from 1998 to 2010, we find that there is an increasing trend of green industrial TFP on the whole, provincial green TFP is mainly derived from technological progress and dragged by technology efficiency. Technical efficiency and technological progress has an obvious positive effect on industrial carbon productivity growth, but the effect of efficiency change on in- dustiral carbon productivity growth is stronger than that of technological progress. Technological progress should be strengthened to promote industrial carbon productivity growth, while we should pay more attention to the role of technical efficiency in promoting industrial carbon productivity.
