Green logistics, a new form of modern logistics in China, is still at its infancy. Green logistics accords with the requirements of sustainable development and human interests, and represents the future direction of logistics development. This paper analyzes the urgency, necessity and constraints of the green logistics development in China. Combined with the trend of green logistics development, this paper raises several countermeasures： to emancipate the minds and establish the new idea of green logistics development; perfect the policy as well as economic environment of green logistics; develop and adopt green logistics technologies; strengthen logistics information and standardization system; speed up the infrastructure planning and construction of green logistics; strengthen the research and personnel training of green logistics.
