In application-oriented universities compound talent training modes have been widely used to cultivate English major students.Owing to such restrictions as source of students,objective conditions and so on,compound talent training modes do not work well in these universities.In order to improve the effect of education,appropriate talent training mode should be set up based on the objective conditions and graduates＇ employment characteristics of these universities.The core of talent training should be both English and Chinese language fluency plus general understanding of liberal arts or science and engineering.In addition,social practice and internship will be used for the preparation of their future＇s career.
