Ufang system ever was the basic unit of cily and country planning in our country, and in the movement it had been disappearing gradually. However being based on the research and analysis, the writer figures out that the Lifang system has still existed in many country selttements as yet. By analyzing the internal structure and the cryptic management system of Zhangbi Ancient Fort In Jiexiu, Shanxi province, we think out its pattern Is like the Lifang system. Furthermore the writer demonstrates the point by comparing the pattern of Ufang with the structure of Zhangbl Ancient Fort and explains the reason that the Ufang pattern has still existed in it as yet. Thereby the paper points out the Lifang culture of Zhangbi settlement framework.
