衡量工业化进程及其发展阶段的指标体系主要有两类：一类是经济总量及其人均量指标；另一类是经济结构指标。霍夫曼系数用工业内部结构变化来判断工业化阶段，是学术界广泛运用的一种方法。本文应用江西、江苏等省市的统计数据对霍夫曼系数法进行验证，指出用霍夫曼系数法判断工业化进程可能存在的缺陷，并通过与英国等西方发达国家的比较研究，探寻霍夫曼系数法存在缺陷的原因。本文提出了霍夫曼系数法的修正措施，并通过相关数据来验证修正的霍夫曼系数法的合理性。

英文摘要：

There are mainly two kinds of index system as to dividing the industrial processes and phases. The first kind is economie gross index and average per person index, the seeond kind is eeonomie strueture index. Hoffman eoeffieiency is to analyse the change of industry internal structure with the eeonomie development, whieh is used universally. The paper eheeks out the method of Hoffman eoeffieient with statistieal data of Jiangxi and Jiangsu, points out the possible flaws of the method and eomparatively analyzes the industrialization of Western developed countries. It proposes the revision measures of Hoffman coefficient, and proves the validity of the revision through related data.
