[ Purpose/significance ] The phenomenon of scientific data fraud is serious now. College library is theimportant information service institution of scientific research activities and it is feasible to carry out scientific data validation service, so as to improve the quality of scientific data and purify the academic environment. [ Method/process ] This paper analyzes the necessity and feasibility of college library＇ s involvement in the validation of scientific data and puts forward some approaches to participate in scientific data validation. It also studies the successful eases of foreign college libraries. [ Result/conclusion] The college library has opportunities and advantages to carry out scientific data validation service, which can expand scientific data validation service from three ways：promoting the subject librarians transfer into data librarians, providing the scientific data validation services, and participating in scientific data management whole life cycle.
